A number of Germantown Academy students submitted artwork for a competition organized by the Ronald McDonald House. These works were based on the themes of “Our City, Our Dreams, Our World and Our Universe”. To our school’s great delight, representatives at The Ronald McDonald House chose to hang a number of GA students artworks in their new building in Philadelphia. Mike Kelly, a representative from Ronald McDonald House said, “The new art we received will go a long way to make the tower at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House feel more like home for the many guest families that stay with us while their children receive life-saving care at local hospitals.”

“This was a wonderful way for our students’ art to be publicly recognized,” said Upper School Visual Arts Department Chair David Love, whose art was also selected to be hung in the building. “We are always proud to display art in our hallways of the Arts Center, the Honors Art Gallery, and the Roberts Library, but being able to say that your art is hung in a public institution is very gratifying for these young artists.”

The following students have their artwork on display at The Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia: Bri O’Hara ’22, Alaina Steck ’22, Mae Nagel ’21, Clara Alger ’22, Don Latt ’22, Sofia Eichsteadt ’22, Jane Franz-Milkewicz ’21, Alex Cai ’22, Ainsley Smith ’22, Summer Moses ’22, Brooke Ashdale ’22, Kai Johnson ’22, and Lyndsea Landmesser ’22. Jane Franz-Milkewicz '21 and David Love represented GA at the exhibit reception in December.
